Originally from Sacramento, CA, Chuck initially entered the golf business in 1991 after graduating from CSU Sacramento. He and his wife Clarice were married in 1992 and relocated to Santa Cruz, CA. It was there that he found a full-time position as an Assistant Professional at Aptos-Seascape Golf Course. In 1995 after 3 years and upon completing the PGA Apprentice program, Chuck relocated to the Monterey Peninsula where he began his 20-year tenure with Pebble Beach Company, specifically at the Links at Spanish Bay. After only 3 months, Chuck was promoted into a management position as Tournament Coordinator at Del Monte Golf Course. Recognizing his talent with leading a team in addition to his interpersonal skills, Chuck kept moving up the ladder. After 1 year, he assumed the position as First Assistant and shortly thereafter moved into the Head Professional position. In 1999, he was promoted to the position of Head Professional at the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links, just months prior to the 2000 AT&T National Pro-Am which preceded the 100th playing of the United States Open Championship. Despite economic challenges post 9/11, he was able to continually focus on providing World-Class service at one of the worlds most recognized golf resort destinations. Additionally, Chuck feels that part of the responsibility of a PGA Pro is to pass on the knowledge & experience it takes to be successful in the business to those working with him and for him. By surrounding himself with quality individuals that have similar values & work ethics, along with having a keen desire to excel on a daily basis, Chuck has made the operations he has been associated with extremely successful. Chuck and his wife have two children. Their son Taylor (20), is currently serving in the US Marine Corps and their daughter Lorance (17), is in her senior at Pacific Grove High School. Chuck joined Nicklaus Club – Monterey in October 2015 and has immediately made an indelible mark on the operation with his ever-present enthusiasm and passion to continually raise the bar in servicing members and guests.
